Job Description:

The Donor Services Manager runs donor-related activities (from membership drives and sustaining annual giving programs to member engagement and retention activities) for WSRE PBS, the public television station licensed to Pensacola State College. The non-profit station delivers PBS programming and local productions along with educational and community engagement events for its Northwest Florida/Coastal Alabama coverage area. The Donor Services Manager oversees direct mail, digital and on-air fundraising, which includes producing membership drive broadcasts. The position supervises the Database Coordinator and reports to the Director, Development & Community Engagement.

The Donor Services Manager creates and executes an operational plan and budget for raising membership revenue; oversees member database management, security and confidentiality; and supervises, trains and coordinates membership staff and volunteers. This position manages member acquisition and renewal in accordance with PBS standards and best practices; develops and executes successful annual giving and sustaining member programs; develops innovative strategies for membership growth, retention, and additional gift prospecting’ and produces on-air pledge drives, scheduling programs and talent, writing scripts, selecting premiums, recruiting volunteers, and coordinating call center services.

Flexible hours and nights and weekends may be required.

SALARY RANGE: $35,000.00 – $42,500.00

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in an organization in the area of membership/donor research, acquisition, retention, and/or donor management. Six years of experience in membership/donor research, acquisition, retention, and management may substitute for required degree/experience requirement. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with donor relationship interactions, donor centric software and databases and working with volunteers, as well as a keen understanding and working knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and public media.
