Software Engineer - (STA009934)

Summary

Responsible for the research, design, development, analysis, testing and implementation of software operations or application systems. Assists in the maintenance of software research products.

Job Duties

1. Develops applications and refines research product requirements.
2. Analyzes requirements and develops designs based on selected architectures.
3. Ensures design solutions are reliable, secure, efficient and maintainable.
4. Maintains simplicity over complexity in designs and user interfaces ensuring usability as core design objectives.
5. Provides estimates of scope from designs and participates in design review sessions.
6. Delivers design objectives by assuring the quality completion of all coding tasks.
7. Assists in research product test planning, documentation and problem resolution.
8. Collaborates with developers to perform code reviews on pull requests.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master’s degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Experience

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Certification/Licensing

None.

Requires a broad knowledge of principles and practices within a professional field. Work is very non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables.
