Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer (holding the title of Curriculum Development Officer) (2 posts) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 513888), to commence from September 1, 2022 for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Master's degree in Education, or a Master’s degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and at least 12 years’ relevant experience in teaching Chinese language in local primary and/or secondary schools or equivalent. They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese, experience in IT applications and Chinese computer operations. Preference will be given to those who have experience in teaching multicultural students.

The appointees will be responsible for providing school-based professional support for primary and/or secondary schools to develop Chinese language curriculum and pedagogical materials for multicultural students; collaborating with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning and observation, post-lesson debriefing; developing pedagogical approaches to cater for the learning diversity of multicultural students; promoting learning and teaching with assessment data; sharing school-based experience at teacher professional development activities; writing school reports and progress reports; developing teaching resources; and performing other duties as assigned.
