Adjunct Faculty– Chemical Addiction Studies and Psychology



Missoula College at the University of Montana in Missoula invites qualified individuals to apply for teaching positions within Chemical Addiction Studies and Psychology in the Department of Applied Arts and Sciences (AASc). AASc is seeking individuals with a passion for teaching courses in social and behavioral sciences at the 100- and 200-level. A fall 2022 hire date is anticipated.

The successful candidate(s) will have the ability to effectively teach addiction studies coursework, work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and the external community, and contribute to the department, Missoula College, and University.

Additional Qualifications
  • Candidates are required to possess a master's degree along with the appropriate credentials to teach behavioral sciences and addiction studies (e.g. counselor education, social work, or psychology).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instructional methodology and curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated successful teaching in behavioral sciences, preferably in a two-year college setting.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty members on other two- and four-year campuses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensing in Addictions Counseling
  • Familiarity with UM academic programs, policies, and procedures

AASc provides instruction in communication studies, mathematics, psychology, natural sciences, and writing studies as well as developmental instruction in mathematics and writing. The Department also houses the University of Montana’s Associate of Arts and Associate of Sciences general education transfer degrees.
