House Supervisor
Join our community and experience Emerson College!
Seeking a qualified individual to serve as a part-time House Supervisor during events. Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, this position works on a rotating schedule with other part-time House Supervisors and requires frequent nights and weekends. Call time is two hours prior to scheduled events until “all clear” and hours vary based on the event schedule.
Your Responsibilities:
- Coordinate usher staff to execute emergency evacuations.
- Assist full-time staff to support client wishes and objectives before, during and after events.
- Train, motivate, supervise, and discipline all front of house staff including Head Ushers, Lobby Ushers, and House Ushers.
- Lead usher staff to see to the safety and comfort of all guests: guests are safe at all times; guests get complete, accurate, knowledgeable, and responsive assistance from usher staff; guests feel honored and well served.
- Assist concessionaires to create a profitable and appropriate retail environment.
- Represent management at merchandise count-in, count-out, and cash settlement.
- Assist guests with specific needs
- Monitor the patrons and staff to ensure safety and security.
- Work as House Usher, Lobby Usher, Head Usher as scheduled.
Your Skills and Experience
- Five years of customer service experience.
- Three years previous experience in House Management.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills are
required.
- Must be able to handle challenging situations with the public
with confidence, skill and professionalism.
- Must be a team player who is able to work well in a fast paced
environment.
Work Environment
- Theatre
- Requires the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of
time
- Required to move/lift objects that are - Up to 20lbs

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25
Salary: $30,537.00
