About the Position:
The Extension and International Programs (EIP) team collaborates with University departments and colleges on unique programs for students from the University, the community, and from around the world. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management. The Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management for Extension and International Programs (EIP) provides strategic leadership, innovation, and data driven oversight for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive marketing, communications and enrollment management program that focuses on sustained, positive results in student recruitment, enrollment, and retention. The director is responsible for developing and directing a marketing and enrollment strategy, both short-term and long-range, that ensures the Marketing Communications (MarCom) Office supports the University's and unit's goals. This includes creating and maintaining processes for planning and executing MarCom work, as well as providing oversight of the unit's overall Enrollment Strategy. Will work across the unit, with all leaders, to implement the strategy, evaluate progress and act on opportunities. The director must demonstrate expertise in, and is responsible for, creating and executing integrated digital marketing campaigns targeting potential students for all EIP programs, and have experience in key marketing and communications areas, including analytics; account management; content strategy and creation; digital advertising; email marketing; marketing automation; SEO; social media outreach; user experience design and research methodologies; and website accessibility. The Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management advises, supports and assists the AVP and EIP administration by providing communications-related strategy and insight, developing and achieving measurable outcomes. The Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management also represents EIP in MarCom-related campus committees and working groups. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an four-year accredited college or university in communications, marketing, new media, graphic/web design, computer science or other communications-related field. Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in communications/marketing field. Minimum of seven years’ supervisory experience. Proven leadership background to include accountability, integrity, influence, and future focus. Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) principles and software, including journey building, experience mapping and personalization across multiple channels (web, email, advertising, social media and mobile). Understanding of project/task management principles and ability to document/implement processes. Experience managing workload within project management software, such as Bitrix24, Microsoft Planner, SmartSheet, Basecamp, etc. Knowledge of user experience and user interface design and research principles, including conducting user research and developing and implementing user personas, as well as utilizing data/feedback for validation and iterative improvements to campaigns/collateral. Demonstrated ability to use marketing technology to gather necessary data and use information to validate and iterate MarCom campaigns and collateral. Technology includes Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads. Knowledge of key digital advertising strategies, including targeting and optimization relating to search-engine marketing, social media marketing, retargeting, lead generation and inbound marketing strategies. Experience developing and implementing brand strategy, within the confines of the institution’s guidelines. Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, from conception to creation to review/revise. Ability to manage large workload within strict time constraints. Skilled in collaborating and working within an ethnically- and culturally-diverse organization, as well as campus and external constituencies. Ability to lead and champion change, and work effectively with ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in communications, marketing, new media, graphic/web design, computer science or other communications-related field. Experience working in Salesforce and planning/executing multi-channel campaigns using integrated marketing automation software. Management experience, preferably of diverse communications teams that executive multi-channel campaigns for a range of clients. Experience using marketing technology tools to support and automate marketing communications via web, email, advertising, social media and mobile channels. Experience managing social media channels and creating social media strategy and calendars. Ideally, social media was managed through software such as SproutSocial, HootSuite or Social Studio. Familiarity with website accessibility standards, including the California State University Accessibility Technology Initiative (ATI) Compliance Standards, WCAG 2.0 guidelines and compliance checking tools such as ComplianceSherriff. Knowledge of CSUF infrastructure, policies and procedures. Website project management experience and basic knowledge of creating site maps, wireframes and prototypes, and well as implementing SEO strategies (keywords, alt tags, meta data). Professional experience in international marketing/outreach activities, including localization and country-specific digital advertising/social media outreach. Professional experience working in higher education communications. Working knowledge of agile marketing processes and workflows.
