· Bachelor’s degree in nursing plus three (3) years of recent clinical medical-surgical nursing experience, preferably including one-year teaching experience, QR
· Associate’s degree in nursing plus five (5) years of recent clinical medical-surgical nursing experience, preferably including one-year laboratory teaching experience.
· Current licensure for professional nursing In Missouri.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record prior to driving on district business. Preferred qualifications:

Working Hours:
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be assigned to different shifts and/or district locations with a minimum notice of one week. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Working Conditions:
· Indoors in normal nursing laboratory environment.
· Responsibilities may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule involving evening and/or weekend hours.
· Public contact position requiring apparel appropriate to the job duties.
· Position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor standards Act. Compensation The salary range is $45,501-$46,866. A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary
Incumbents supervise the operation, experiments, and activities of an assigned lab. Major duties and responsibilities include: scheduling lab activities; assisting students with experiments and practice; assessing individual students’ learning needs; evaluating student performance; ensuring compliance with experimental protocols; modifying experiments and activities based on safety considerations and availability of materials; coordinating with instructors to implement necessary codifications to experimental protocols; providing trainings and guidance to lower level staff and student workers.

· Manage the nursing skills laboratory to facilitate students’ laboratory experiences, providing proper equipment and media resources, scheduling individual student skill practice sessions, and assuring that appropriate supplies are on hand.
· Provide procedural Instruction in nursing skills, including demonstrations, for students both individually and in groups.
· Work cooperatively with faculty to provide learning resources and services to students.
· Evaluate student competency in specific nursing skills, and assist clinical instructors with groups of students in the nursing skills lab.
· Promote student self-directed learning by serving as a resource for individual students
· Assess individual students’ learning needs.
· Preview and critique media resources, informing faculty of new acquisitions of media as they become available in the laboratory.
· Maintain accurate records of laboratory supplies, equipment, including maintenance, and keys.
· Document and summarize use of lab, providing reports each semester as directed.
· Enhance laboratory resources by maintaining contacts with pharmaceutical equipment, and publishing companies and pharmacies.
· Participate In professional and developmental activities to maintain currency of knowledge and skills.
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge
· Well-developed knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
· Familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures and equipment, including knowledge of drug computation techniques.
· Ability to relate positively with students and to maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
· Ability to handle confidential material appropriately.
· Ability to facilitate use of interactive video systems and other forms of audiovisuals instruction by faculty and students.
· Ability to operate computer equipment effectively utilizing word processing and other relevant software.
· Familiarity with mainframe computing systems and capabilities. Skills Positions Supervised
