Non-Credit Instructor- Chef's Assistant

  • The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning department at Middlesex College invites applications for a part-time, non-credit Chef Assistant to support the Chef Instructor in non-credit cooking classes during the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

  1. Assists the Chef Instructor in food preparation.
  2. Maintains proper food prep, storage, and service procedures in the operation of the kitchen.
  3. Utilizes basic knife skills.
  4. Demonstrates cooking skills when needed.
  5. Maintains cleanliness of the workspace and kitchen.
  6. Provides personalized support to students enrolled in the class.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of culinary or food service experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Adult teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in a remote environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence
