Position Purpose

Under the direction of the Director, Associate Director, and Assistant Directors of Advancement Events, responds to specific division objectives by contributing to the strategic and tactical development of events and programs for the institution that connect alumni with each other and the College in support of the priorities of Advancement.

Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Demonstrated successful work experience in a large and complex environment where collaboration with multiple stakeholders and flexibility are essential.
* Demonstrated creative planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated mastery of logistical event management.
* Demonstrated ability to use data for reporting, event planning and execution.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service ethic.
* Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as relational databases.
* Ability to prioritize and manage details on multiple events concurrently and in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to be perceptive and responsive to direction set forth from Advancement leadership.


Note: Employment will be contingent upon possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian driver’s license and continued qualification as an Approved Driver under the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in non-profit fundraising and volunteer management, preferably in higher education.

Key Accountabilities

Description

In collaboration with the Director, Associate Director, and other department and divisional colleagues, independently plans and executes high-profile events that accomplish specific Advancement objectives while maintaining high levels of attention to detail, accuracy, sensitivity, and a continuous focus on the purpose of those activities. Organizes event logistics for all event types including digital, hybrid and in-person events. Focus on delivery of digital events utilizing Zoom and/or other event or streaming platforms. Preparation for digital events includes creating technical sequence, gathering of communications collateral, fulfilling stakeholder requests, attending to program speaker needs, and managing data. Ensures digital tools and platforms are best utilized. Implements any tech updates and new products. Preparation for in-person events includes oversight of venue arrangements, catering, communications collateral, program speaker needs, and audio-visual. Promotes events through iModules and other software via e-mail communication and electronic distribution of final promotional material and invitations. Using Advance, compiles guest list, creates marketing segmentation, tracks, and records event participation. Performs analysis post event using yield metrics, After Action Review, and post event survey data to determine success and effectiveness of programming. Tracks and manages event-related costs.

Participates in daily event operations while working autonomously and as part of multiple teams. Communicates with a range of offices within Advancement and across campus while supporting effective working relationships, systems, and processes that are critical to departmental activities and responsibilities. Responds efficiently and accurately to requests from other offices and constituents for information.

Travels to perform site visits, meet with volunteers, donors, parents, and event hosts, and to staff and execute Advancement events and activities while professionally representing the College.
