Position Purpose

The Manager, Power Management Integration Center ( PMIC ) manages the operations of the PMIC, including coordinating research projects and project proposals, organizing technical meetings, leading Center communications, and serving as a central contact point.

Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication skills including writing, web and document design, and social media.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently; proactive in managing workload.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Relationship focused, able to build rapport quickly.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications

· Degree in a technical field.
· Familiarity with the electronics industry.

Key Accountabilities

Description

Project Management
  • Develops an annual schedule for center operations; updates and adapts it as needed.
  • Creates and implements a process and a system to track proposals, funded projects, and related communications with PMIC faculty who are leading those projects at both Dartmouth and the University of California – San Diego ( UCSD ).
  • Works with Thayer Research Administration, Dartmouth’s Office of Sponsored Projects, the Technology Transfer Office at Dartmouth, and with corresponding offices at UCSD to ensure all related contracts and licenses are in place.
  • Oversees and executes center meetings for students and faculty.
  • Meets regularly with PMIC faculty and staff at Dartmouth and UCSD to manage PMIC operations and track follow-up actions.
  • Adheres to National Science Foundation guidelines for managing PMIC operations, including required annual reporting and data tracking for that reporting. Works with PMIC leadership to ensure accurate and timely development of required reports.

Member Meetings
  • Plans and manages semi-annual meetings of the entire Center ( PMIC faculty, staff, students, and corporate members), including all logistics, travel, agenda, materials for attendees, etc. and writing meeting summaries.
  • Plans and manages monthly calls with member companies, including tracking agenda items and following up on action items as needed.

Communications
  • Oversees web site development. Writes and updates site content, including collecting pre-publication and post-publication versions of papers and other documents.
  • Coordinates and executes social media presence on LinkedIn promoting PMIC activities. Collaborates with Thayer Communications Office as needed.
  • Maintains and coordinates center branding and updates as needed.
  • Identifies and utilizes other venues/methods of communication that will support the success of PMIC, such as trade shows, as needed.

Membership Recruiting
  • Serves as the primary contact point for PMIC .
  • Manages and tracks member company contacts, including tracking signed agreements and payments, individuals and their roles, and developing and maintaining good relationships with key individuals.
  • Tracks leads and contacts with new potential members and coordinates efforts by faculty and staff involved in these efforts.
