Earned Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or a terminal degree in a related field with a record of high quality performance as an educator, evidence of scholarly achievement, and ability in administration at college or University level. Must have prior leadership experience in education field within Higher Education, assessment and accreditation, and a proven research agenda. Experience with data management systems, and national accreditation preferred. Must demonstrate human relations and managerial skills and an understanding of disciplines which comprise the College. Successful experience in academic administration; evidence of scholarly and professional achievement that will merit a tenured faculty appointment. Nature & Purpose of Position
The Associate Dean is a critical member of the college’s administrative leadership team. The Associate Dean is expected to assist the Dean of the College of Education with all aspects of assessment and accreditation reporting requirements with meeting the goals and initiatives of the College. Primary Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting the Dean of the College with the following functions: general administration, curriculum and instruction, accreditation efforts, providing leadership in collaborative activities within and outside the department, advancing program improvement and assessment, in-state and national accreditation, college strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and assessment, faculty matters, College organization, internal and external College communication, research activity, student matters, administration of scholarships, fiscal matters, and interacting with other colleges and divisions within the University. May teach courses in addition to other responsibilities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications
