Executive Director of the Fralin Life Sciences Institute

Lead the way in environmental and life sciences research, education, and outreach as Executive Director of Virginia Tech’s Fralin Life Sciences Institute.

Virginia Tech is seeking an experienced leader and highly respected scholar to lead the Fralin Life Sciences Institute, one of four investment institutes at a top research university. This role will have an extraordinary opportunity to continue the institute’s mission to improve the human condition by shaping the institute’s strategic direction using talented faculty and cutting-edge facilities.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation, this role will lead approximately 350 faculty affiliates across all nine Virginia Tech colleges, support hundreds of graduate students and postdocs, and serve on several senior university leadership councils. The institute’s collaborations and partnerships, within and across colleges and other areas of the university, are essential to the success of its affiliated faculty.
