Pathologist

West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine (PALM) seeks a pathologist, open-rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) in the clinician-track to serve as a Pathologist with a major commitment to the Hematopathology Service. The successful candidate is expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice pathology with an emphasis in hematopathology. Hematopathology services include interpreting bone marrow aspirates/biopsies, lymph nodes, flow cytometry, peripheral blood smears, and results of other laboratory hematology and coagulation testing. Teaching hematopathology fellows, medical students, and residents is required.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree, be board certified in pathology (AP or AP/CP), be board certified/eligible in hematopathology, and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

About the Department: WVU PALM is a rapidly growing department consisting of faculty in AP, CP, Translational Pathology, Anatomical Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Clinical AP services are committed to Digital Pathology and are supported by state-of-the-art ancillary testing. Faculty research activities are supported by the PALM Tissue Bank, Research Histology Lab, Brain Bank and WVU Rapid Development Laboratory.
