The John Chambers College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for a non-tenure track visiting teaching assistant professor of marketing position in the marketing department beginning in August 2022 or January 2023. This position is a nine-month appointment subject to renewal.

Qualifications :

Qualified applicants should either:
  • Hold a Ph.D. degree in marketing, business administration, or a closely related discipline, by the time of employment (Preferred); or
  • Hold a master’s degree in marketing, business administration or closely related discipline and extensive industry experience (at least five years) in marketing at the executive level in industry or related organization and college level teaching experience.
This position is in support of college-level, in-person, and online undergraduate and graduate programs in Marketing. Approximately, 70-80% of time is devoted to teaching 7-8 course sections per year, and approximately 20-30% of time is dedicated to research and service to the department, college, university, and the state.

The ideal candidate has a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and success in scholarly publications. Qualified candidates possess knowledge, skill and interest in teaching undergraduate courses in the topics of marketing, marketing research, consumer behavior, sales and marketing sub specialties: product, price, distribution and promotion. Preferred candidates should demonstrate success of publishing scholarly works in refereed scholarly outlets in marketing topics.

Candidates are expected to embrace a teaching philosophy grounded in experiential learning initiatives. The candidate is expected to effectively teach marketing courses (in both person and online formats) at the undergraduate level and work with colleagues to support and enhance our innovative and engaging program culture, and rapid growth. Service duties include supporting current faculty with developing program offerings, curriculum development and support, recruitment, student retention, student placement activities, and industry outreach.
