Summary
This position will provide partnership coordination for Bridging the Gap-Emerging Leaders, a multi-disciplinary, hospital-based violence prevention and intervention program, dedicated to reducing injury, re-injury and mortality rates among youth and adults by providing intentionally injured patients with support during their hospital stay and beyond.
Typical Duties
- Help design, coordinate, and conduct programs and activities related to community violence
- Serve as a program liaison and provide exemplary customer service and information about community violence initiatives to prospective patients, clinicians, residents, and staff
- Perform a wide variety of administrative, logistical, operational, and technical tasks related to internal and external partners
- Facilitate communication and networking amongst service providers to increase efficiency and effectiveness of direct services to victims
- Coordinate and implement recruitment strategies to attract new interns and volunteers
- Assist with onboarding of prospective interns and
volunteers
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related discipline. Ability to manage communication between internal units, local organizations, and community residents. Experience coordinating activities and events with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Knowledge of working with underserved populations. Ability to work collaboratively with families and community agencies. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Must agree to CPS and criminal background check. Dependable transportation required.
