Summary:
This position will provide lead support in executing an alumni engagement communication strategy, as well as develop programming and initiatives to increase alumni and student engagement.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Implement a comprehensive communication plan (print, email, and social media) to School of Business alumni that elevates the School’s visibility, reinforces alumni connectivity, and identifies opportunities for engagement.

  • Manage affinity group outreach and programs that support alumni from diverse demographics.

  • Working with undergraduate program leaders, develop a strategy for student engagement that offers touchpoints at core junctures of their student experience.

  • Support an in-person engagement strategy in lead markets, focusing on communications, programming and partner collaboration.

  • Support a digital engagement strategy by building community virtually, identifying relevant program content, securing facilitators, and leveraging technology to maximize impact.

  • Identify new ways for alumni to engage with the School of Business, including engaging alumni at scale, and facilitating volunteer opportunities between alumni and the School.

  • Travel periodically to engage with alumni at School of Business events, utilizing personal interactions to assess volunteer interests and alumni needs, ultimately developing and maintaining relationships with alumni.

  • Support Alumni Weekend and other on-campus events for alumni.

  • Report and track key outcomes related to alumni engagement metrics.

  • Maintain the School of Business alumni website with up-to-date and engaging content.

  • Support the Executive Director in managing the Alumni Council and strengthening members’ involvement with the School of Business; manage the Communications Committee; help to coordinate meetings and activities, governance and recruitment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Advanced degree preferred.

  • Working knowledge of marketing and communication strategy.

  • Familiarity in best practices and competency using social media platforms.

  • Exceptional relationship manager.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; skilled in effective communication and public presentations .

  • Strong work ethic, high standards, and accountability. Ability to represent the office and the University in a professional manner.

  • Proactive project manager. Able to multitask, suggest innovative and improved processes, and meet milestones and deadlines. Experience working in an environment with tangible quotas with demonstrated success of achieving desired outcomes.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a broad spectrum of student populations, staff, and faculty colleagues.

  • Ability to plan and manage events.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to travel independently and internationally.

  • Ability to work after hours.

  • Hybrid work model available.
