Job Description

Perform duties associated with sourcing digital academic resources and related activities for the University of Missouri Stores, which includes multiple retail stores located throughout the state and associated ecommerce web sites.

Engage with department and faculty members to understand fully their needs, to provide information on the benefits of AutoAccess and open educational resources, and to encourage widespread adoption of this and other potential digital content strategies to support student learning and to assist students with textbooks affordable options. Develop and maintain relationships, at different levels, with internal and external customers to ensure accurate and smooth delivery of content to students.

Develop strong business relationship with publishers to source digital content and negotiate terms around delivery strategies; while adhering to the needs, policies and procedures of the University of Missouri Stores and following to the Department of Education regulations for content pricing. Utilize in-depth knowledge regarding trends and evolving content delivery methods, as well as intuition, to source needed digital content and to identify possible courses for transition to digital alternatives; in an effort to save students money while still meeting customer, quality, and financial goals. Serve as a subject expert, resolve issues and problems while working toward resolutions, which are in the best interest of our students. Work closely with the manager regarding escalated or unresolved problems, where situations require special attention or detail.

Provide prompt and comprehensive customer assistance (both internal and external) including responding to inquiries about available resources, policies and procedures and with completing digital adoptions.

Maintain a number of touch-points within our intelligent software systems to ensure communication with students occurs providing information regarding the student’s ability to opt-out of the content without being charged. Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and implement messages designed for students, faculty, and publishers to promote the programs. Develop and implement surveys for students and faculty to track satisfaction and efficacy of the content over time.

Demonstrate superb organizational and follow-up ability to ensure accurate and up to date entry of data into computerized inventory system for inventory maintenance, product adoptions, purchase order development, inventory returns, etc. Monitor reports, analyzing trends, detect errors, and improve business practices. Assist with developing and providing analytical reports and information on the store’s successes and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure proper inventory control, including processing related paperwork, price changes, inventory levels, shipping and receiving, and shrinkage. Detect and resolve any inventory discrepancies, ensuring losses are minimal for all stores. Ensure adherence to return policies, price adjustments and proper markdown schedules.

Represent the University in a positive and professional manner while maintaining a high standard of ethics and customer values.

Additional Responsibilities
Travel to regional locations as necessary to assist with faculty communication on digital content and textbook affordability options.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain our University of Missouri Stores and Operations mission.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $15.29 - $23.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
