Job Summary

This position is responsible for producing FGCU Eagles Videoboard assets, still graphics, and animations for game day presentation for EagleVision videoboards currently located in Alico Area, Swanson Stadium, The Softball Complex and FGCU Aquatics Center. In addition, this position produces special event graphics and presentations to support special Athletics events and initiatives.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Create, and manage videoboard content; including video assets, still graphics, and animations for game presentations and video streaming.
  • Manage run of show graphic files, video content and the video control room or monitors for all FGCU sporting events where videoboards exist run by FGCU Athletics, including men’s and women’s basketball, swimming and diving, and baseball and softball.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains student work study, volunteer, academic interns or OPS hourly support to assist in carrying out the goals and objectives of the functional area, as budget supports.
  • Ensures all regulations, policies, procedures, and safety practices are followed.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure effective operations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new initiatives to improve operations.
  • Complies with all University, ASUN or CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Sports Association) regulations, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University, ASUN and CCSA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs including passing the NCAA certification test, if applicable. Any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Other Duties:
  • May assist as a secondary contact for ESPN+.
  • May serve as a secondary liaison with the ASUN’s Director of Broadcast Services for ESPN+ and other conference-based video initiatives.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • One year of full-time professional experience in a higher education athletics department or comparable professional experience as indicated by portfolio.
  • Advanced proficiency with relevant software including Adobe Creative Suite; Adobe Premiere, Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Two years of full-time professional experience in a higher education athletics department or comparable professional experience as indicated by portfolio.
  • Experience with broadcast production and in-game/in-event video board content implementation focused on sports, preferably collegiate.
  • Experience with video hardware and software applications, such as: NewTek production equipment, Ross Video production equipment, Daktronics videoboard systems, Nevco videoboard systems, video distribution via ESPN+ protocols, and/or RTMP protocols (comparable systems will be accepted).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of NCAA, ASUN Conference, and Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) rules and regulations as they pertain to the job duties.
  • Knowledge of operations and troubleshooting of NEVCO and Daktronics videoboards, both hardware and software.
  • Knowledge with formatting video and gifs for integration with or into social media.
  • Knowledge and ability to learn Adobe Media Flash Encoder, Display Director, Edius, and non-linear editing.
  • Skilled in media transfer workflows.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and ability to work in creative team and game day team environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision, under strict timelines, and in live conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with constituents, fans, partners, colleagues, and the general public.
  • Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance and motivation.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and environments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently.
  • Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary Range: $36,000 to $40,000
