Established in 1887 as a school for the education of American
Indians, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke serves a

Provide individual and group counseling and consultation services
to UNCP students with a primary focus on students in
recovery. Develop a comprehensive AOD program including
substance use prevention education and management of substance use
referrals from Student Conduct and Athletics. Chair
the CSAP committee.
This position is Mandatory Personnel: Mandatory
Employees: Employees whose presence has been determined to be
mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse
weather or emergency events.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: To possess at least a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology or a related field, preferably from a CACREP or an APA accredited program. To have some experience in counseling, assessment within an educational setting, and college student services. To have credentials as a National Certified Counselor and as a NC Licensed Professional Counselor or NC Licensed Practicing Psychologist or equivalent credentials.
Management Preferences: Credential as Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
Licenses and Certifications: NC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or NC Licensed Practicing Psychologist or equivalent credential. Provisionally licensed candidates may apply, and if hired, will have 2 years to complete licensure.
