Incorporate software applications into the university’s information technology systems. Lead the process of evaluating, recommending, and learning new software tools that will enhance the universities security posture. Responsible for developing strategic procedures and upgrades, improving network and systems infrastructures, and managing systems configuration. Analyze the system’s operation and its efficiency to support business functions and deliverables.

Maintain the safety and security of the information technology systems, ensuring their accuracy and smooth navigation for operational use, especially preventing unauthorized access and activities.

Must have excellent knowledge of the technology industry and the latest trends, as well as a strong command of programming languages and system codes.

Project management (all phases). Design a Visio template for detailed site drawings. Test and enable custom scripts for server deployments and changes. Monitor storage systems to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and to ensure performance, data replication, and service failover between data centers.

Monitor systems and applications. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Test technological applications before utilization to ensure they meet predefined objectives.

Must be able to make periodic travels to off-site data centers.

This position is designated as Mandatory Personnel:  Mandatory Employees: Employees whose presence has been determined to be mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse weather or emergency events.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an IT-related field from an accredited institution and two to 4 years’ experience in Information Technology. Associate degree in Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution with six (6) years of experience in Information Technology. 

Management Preferences

Minimum of six (6) years experience in IT-related field.
Minimum of three (3) years experience with virtual infrastructure: VMware vCenter management preferred.
Install both hardware and software during the setup and maintenance of systems.
Ability to lead and assist in a disaster recovery design, testing for annual disaster recovery.
Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
Above-average analytical, conceptual, and troubleshooting skills. 
Ability to effectively communicate in a professional and courteous manner with technical and non-technical personnel.
Independent self-starter and task-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to learn new software and train others.
Experience with Windows Server Operating systems, Linux Operating Systems is a plus.
Knowledge of networks, including TCP/IP routing, port configuration, and firewall rules.
Experience with Rapid7, Cisco Cloud Email Security, Microsoft O365 Exchange, Microsoft Azure Security tools, Tripwire, VSphere LogInsight, Vsphere VRealize Operations Management, and Service Now ticketing system. 
Proficient knowledge in Single Sign-On authenticating applications; such as Azure Enterprise Applications with AD, Shibboleth, ADFS, or LDAP.
Scripting knowledge using Puppet or Ansible.
Knowledge of collaborating tools, such as Cisco WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
Familiar with NetApp storage and NAS systems.
Experience with Cisco UCS
Experience with cloud deployment and management tools.
Ability to procure and maintain high-quality documentation.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work on and complete tasks both as part of a team and individually.
Must be able to travel to off-site data centers.
Must be able to work on scheduled maintenance activities which may include nights and weekends.
