Position Summary:
The VandalStore Retail Off Site Retail Ops Manager and Downtown Moscow Lead oversees bookstore operations performance, improvement, merchandising, inventory management, cost reduction, organizational structuring, implementation of shared services, and process/technology integration and safety for multiple off-site locations and facilities including but not limited to the golf course pro shop, Joe's corner, Coeur d'Alene center, Boise VandalStore and downtown Moscow VandalStore locations. The VandalStore Retail Off Site Retail Ops Manager and Downtown Moscow Lead interacts directly with our customers including students, faculty, administration, alumni, and the public to provide outstanding custom service while helping the store to meet or exceed goals. The Retail Off Site Retail Ops Manager and Downtown Moscow Lead is responsible for overseeing the management of five VandalStore Shop locations. This includes staff management, labor budget maintenance, and development of store leads.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
3 years professional retail work experience that includes:
  • Working with product merchandising, pricing, inventory controls and sales promotions;
  • Managing, leading and training a team;
  • Providing customer service, both in person and over the phone;
  • Using computers to communicate with email, enter, retrieve, and edit data;
  • Operating and troubleshooting a POS system;
  • Following written instructions, policies and procedures as demonstrated in application materials
  • Working in a multi-task environment;
  • Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of one year of retail/customer service experience.
  • Experience with cash handling.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to manage many projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and provide follow-up with strong attention to detail.





Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Bend, stoop, lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds;
  • Ability to continuously move about and travel between retail sites throughout the course of the work day



Required Licensures, Certifications or other
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to meet the University of Idaho driving requirements.



Willingness and ability to:
  • Work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events.
  • Travel to satellite locations outside of Moscow, sometimes requiring overnight stay;
