Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer for Fall 2022 (starting Aug. 29 – Dec. 17, 2022):
  • Social Media Marketing (MKT3400)
    • Tuesday/Thursday at 12:00-1:50 pm
    • Tuesday/Thursday at 2:00-3:50 pm
  • Marketing Research (MKT 4420)
    • Tuesday/Thursday at 8:00-9:50 am
Sections are enrolled at approximately 40 students. The sections are on-campus.

MKT 3400 Social Media Marketing : Social media has connected consumers with family and friends while also giving them considerable power over marketers and brands. This course offers an overview of how marketing has changed due to the increasing prominence of social media as a digital marketing tool. The curriculum of this course is designed to equip students with the relevant knowledge, perspectives, and practical skills required to both develop and present an effective social media marketing strategy. This is an elective course for business majors concentrating in marketing.

MKT 4420 Marketing Research: Marketing Research plays an important role in providing timely and objective information to marketing decision-makers. The primary objectives of this course are to introduce students to the research process and to some of the basic tools and techniques used in marketing research. Students will develop practical knowledge in identifying marketing problem areas, formulating research designs, selecting sources of data, constructing questionnaires, and sampling methods, processing quantitative analysis, and reporting information by completing an Institutional Research Board-approved marketing research project. This is a required course for business majors concentrating in marketing.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in business or related area.
  • Industry experience in social media and marketing research is strongly preferred.
