Job Summary

Coordinate all food service and laundry operations at HCDC. Serve as a resource for HCDC employees and families. Oversee all student laboratory activity related to food service.




Job Duties
Job duties include but are not limited to:

1. COORDINATE THE DAILY OPERATION OFTHE HCDC FOOD SERVICE AND LAUNDRY Performance is acceptable when: a. Guidelines for state licensing, national accreditation, and the federal Food program are met. b. Kitchen budget as outlined is maintained, purchasing supplies and materials as needed. c. An organized and sanitary environment is maintained.

2. COORDINATE EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS, AND VOLUNTEERS IN THE KITCHEN Performance is acceptable when: a. Feedback is provided to the Supervisor regarding comments/concerns about performance. b. Weekly meetings and evaluations of students are completed on time.

3. COORDINATE MEAL PLANNING AND PREPARATION Performance is acceptable when: a. Monthly menus are planned and distributed. b. Food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner. c. Produce from The Children's Garden is incorporated into HCDC meal service.

4. COLLABORATE WITH CLASSROOM TEACHERS, SEED-TO-TABLE SPECIALIST, AND STUDENTS Performance is acceptable when: a. Classroom cooking/nutrition activities are coordinated in food service area. b. Produce from The Children's Garden is incorporated into the curriculum. c. Nutrition education is provided to the children and families.

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling, shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.



Required Qualifications
1 year post-secondary education or equivalent
1-3 years' work experience in food service
Experience with word processing and general computer use
Excellent interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications
Training in food service for young children
Work experience in food service for young children
1 year of supervisory experience
