Job Description Summary:

To support the operations and programs within the Make It Center (MIC) which is anticipated to open in Fall 2022. The person in this position will help the Make It Center team design engaging experiences for all guests.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks
  • Support Make It Center (MIC) staff in designing, troubleshooting, and providing feedback on emerging MIC programming and operations.

  • Test and evaluate hardware and software implementation related to MIC programming and guest experiences.

  • Provide feedback about uses, fit, and quality of user experience as related to supplies, equipment, and products in the MIC.

  • Provides support and front line customer service for community or college events designed to promote the MIC.

  • Serves as an ambassador of the MIC to promote the MIC to students, faculty, staff, and external community members.

  • Participates in special projects as needed.

  • Uphold college policies and procedures related to MIC operation, programs, and service delivery.

  • Demonstrated delivery of excellent customer service.

  • Maintaining an established work schedule, with possible evenings and weekends for specific events.

  • Ability to problem solve dynamic and complex challenges and communicate effectively with fellow staff members.

  • The ability to work independently within departmental policies and guidelines.

  • Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including the use of tact and diplomacy.

  • Collaborating with diverse internal and external partners, students, faculty, staff, and community members.

  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Required Technology Skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency with standard office software

Preferred Technology Skills
  • Experience with Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, video conferencing, and IT/AV equipment.

Preferred Work Experience
  • Experience designing programs and events for ages 16-24

  • Bilingual - Spanish speaking.

Required Work Experience
  • Some high school education

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
