VISITING INSTRUCTOR POSITION IN THEATRE BEGINNING AUGUST 2022

POSITION : Visiting Instructor of Theatre; Two-semester (9-month) position

TEACHING AREAS : Theatre Studies including courses for majors in Theatre History, Theory, Analysis, and Criticism; and courses for non-majors in the university core curriculum.

SALARY : Commensurate with experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include teaching Theatre Major courses in Theatre History, Theory, Analysis, Criticism, as well as courses in the core curriculum. Qualified candidates may have the possibility of directing a departmental production. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching. As a one-year Instructor of Theatre, the teaching load is 4-4, and there are no committee service assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A completed PhD in Theatre
• A strong record of teaching college-level Theatre History, Analysis, and Dramatic Literature from a global and inclusive perspective
• An additional emphasis that contributes to the diverse nature of our BA program is desired
• A record of ongoing scholarly publication
