Visiting Professor in Digital Analytics (part-time)

 

Description:

 

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University seeks a visiting professor in digital marketing analytics.

 

The Cronkite School is a global leader in professional strategic communications education, offering undergraduate and graduate programs that develop skills in digital strategy, marketing, audience engagement and measurement. The visiting professor will teach courses in digital analytics; knowledge in the discipline – and a passion for nurturing those skills in students – is required. The ideal candidate has professional experience in digital media, a background in digital audience data and their use to engage audiences and create new digital products, and a demonstrated ability to grow a digital audience using research, content, engagement and analytics. The candidate should have a robust knowledge of site and social analytics and listening tools, and an understanding of how to test content variables across digital platforms.

 

This is a part-time, benefits-eligible, 9-month appointment; this is not a tenure-track appointment.

 

Essential Duties

  • Teach two courses in the Fall semester, and two courses in the Spring semester.
  • Foster a learning culture of innovation by harnessing fresh ideas and experimenting with new tools, technologies and techniques that enhance audience connection and understanding of digital behavior.
  • Engage in service to students and the Cronkite School, including student mentorship and guest speaking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree, and professional experience working in marketing, integrated communications, digital strategy, social media, audience growth or a related field.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience launching and measuring digital marketing campaigns, including paid social and search campaigns.
  • Fluency in Google Analytics, Google Data Studio and social media analytics platforms
  • Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students in a university or agency setting
  • ​​Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in both professional practices and as a contributor to an inclusive working and learning environment
