The Cell and Developmental Biology Center (CDBC) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health invites applications for a Staff Scientist position in the Laboratory of Host-Pathogen Dynamics (LHPD), headed by Dr. Nihal Altan-Bonnet.

We seek a highly motivated and creative individual with a deep interest in the intersect between immunology and infectious diseases, and with expertise in cellular immunology, next-gen RNA sequencing, animal infection models, working in BSL3 labs, bioinformatics and computer skills including Python language, as well as microscopy, molecular biology and biochemistry skills.

The individual will conduct research broadly related to SARS-CoV2 and its impact on the immune system, with special emphasis on SARS-CoV2’s impact on host lysosome physiology. In addition to conducting independent research, the individual will support and train lab members, establish and conduct collaborative research, attend, and present at national and international meetings, and assist in writing manuscripts. 

The candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience. A good track record of productivity judged by peer reviewed publications in the relevant fields mentioned above.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Appointees must be US citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa.
