Post-Doc Research Associate in Implementation Science and Community-Based Health Disparities COVID-19 Research – University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)


We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate with a foundation in implementation science and qualitative data analysis to begin as soon as possible. We welcome candidates whose experience in research or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with both the Chicagoland CEAL Program and the Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science (CDIS).


National Institutes of Health (NIH) Community Engagement Research Alliance Against COVID-19 Disparities (CEAL) research teams are currently working in 21 states to provide trustworthy information through active community engagement and outreach to the people hardest-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chicagoland CEAL Program is a partnership of academic and community health disparities experts working together to improve COVID-19 vaccination and engagement in quality therapeutic care and trials for low-income Black and Latinx communities in the Chicago metro area. https://chicovid.ihrp.uic.edu/. The Chicagoland CEAL Program is managed out of University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), under the direction of Molly Martin, MD, MAPP, at the UIC College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Institute for Health Research and Policy. Co-principal investigators are located at Equal Hope, Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern University, Rush University, Sinai Urban Health Institute, and University of Chicago. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with investigators, staff, and community partners at all these institutions. The Postdoctoral Associate will focus on evaluation of COVID-19 community programs and results dissemination.


The Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science (http://go.uic.edu/cdis) offers exceptional opportunities to conduct cutting-edge research in implementation science, multidisciplinary collaborations, and close partnerships with community-based agencies. A strength of the Center is its active engagement with traditionally underserved populations designed to address diverse health disparities. The Center is part of a vibrant and growing Department of Medicine, with well-established research programs in prevention and intervention for a wide range of diseases and collaborations across colleges of public health, engineering, applied health, dentistry, pharmacy, education, social work, and nursing. The successful candidate should have experience in implementation science and research that aligns with at least one of the following areas: adolescent sexual and reproductive health, eliminating health disparities, aging, mHealth, juvenile justice, HIV prevention and treatment, mental health, substance use, and global health.
