About the Opportunity

Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Internal Communication, the Communications Associate will be responsible for supporting communications initiatives that promote the Office of the Chancellor's priorities: engaging the OTC community around collective goals and creating a sense of belonging, creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation across teams, promoting OTC key messaging across the university system, and supporting and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners.

These efforts will include: Developing compelling content and executing across multiple channels including newsletters, announcements, and presentations; managing communication calendars including posts, promotions, and emails; developing, coordinating and supporting team-building events and employee engagement initiatives; managing events including promotion, development and distribution of event plans and assets, and coordination of technical logistics; creating collaborative resources and maintaining digital team libraries, platforms and portals; brand compliance and support; tracking of key metrics. Position responsibilities will include writing and proofreading, technical coordination of virtual and digital platforms, event and project coordination, light graphic design, some administrative support, and more.

A motivated and strong level of support will elevate and expand internal communications for the Office of the Chancellor, and will provide stronger and broader connections and collaborations across the OTC and university community.

The successful candidate will be an organized, enthusiastic, self-starter who will assist with and support execution of our team's communications plan to align with the mission, values and priorities of the Office of the Chancellor. They will be able to support efforts across a variety of areas including PR, Digital Media, Internal Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Administrative Support, and more.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (in communications, marketing, journalism or related field preferred)
  • 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Proactive problem-solver with good time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented planner
  • High standards of excellence:
  • Comfortable working with c-suite level executives
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
  • Comfortable using and learning on-line platforms, including MS Office 365 suite of programs particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Sharepoint
  • Basic graphic design and video editing capabilities preferred (Adobe Creative Suite)
