Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of the Cantor Gallery, the Fellow for Programs and Administration (Gallery Fellow) is a two-year position that will support the outreach and teaching goals of the Cantor Gallery and support the management of the of the Gallery's program, while gaining experience in all aspects of art exhibitions and collections work, especially in an academic setting.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Create and execute programs based on Cantor exhibitions; in particular, develop partnerships and projects with College student groups, as well as area K-12 schools and regional colleges and universities
• Help manage group visits to the Gallery; schedule, facilitate, and teach various student, school, and adult groups
• Work with Director of Operations to support management of Gallery programs: create and process contracts; make hospitality arrangements for visiting scholars; work with entities across the College coordinate schedules, spaces, and a/v needs
• Work with Director of Operations to coordinate Gallery marketing and build presence through social media accounts, Holy Cross website, print collateral, and news sources
• Work with Gallery Director to expand academic engagement with Gallery program
• Assist in exhibitions research, and collections cataloguing and research
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Art History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, or related field. Master's degree or graduate level coursework preferred
• High level of interest in the visual arts and museums
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations, including college-age students, K-12 audiences, college administrators, community partners, faculty, and artists
• Proven ability to organize, solve problems, and complete projects with minimal supervision
• Strong oral and written communication skills; experience with research
• Experience with teaching, especially from visual sources
• Familiarity and comfort with working in a higher education setting
• Effective project management skills and the ability to multi-task
• Must be able to work weekends and occasional evenings

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt level position. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $44,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
