Position Purpose

The Program Manager for Student Programs oversees the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning’s programming and services for Dartmouth students. They will provide support, management, and coordination of DCAL’s student programs, including leading the Learning Fellows Program.. They collaborate with DCAL staff and campus partners in developing programs and resources to support students and educators at Dartmouth.

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • B.A. and 3-5 years of experience in project management of professional development and/or educational projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with educational development practices and approaches, learning assistant programs, and/or learning design.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues pertaining to teaching and learning in a research university, including knowledge and understanding of faculty and student culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and constructively with a diversity of colleagues and clients across divisions and at multiple levels (undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff).
  • Demonstrated experience with teaching, facilitation, training, or presentation skills.
  • Excellent writing, listening, analytical, and organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Independence, initiative, resourcefulness, and an attitude of service.
  • Ability to design and coordinate successful educational programs.
  • Ability to network with a wide variety of Dartmouth officers, faculty, students, staff and community organizations.
  • Ability to conduct or supervise program evaluation including collection and analysis metrics and support assessment of programs and projects.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality regulations including FERPA and data security.
  • Commitment to inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.A. or a more advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in domains of inclusive pedagogy, peer learning, student development theories, learning design, or evaluation.

Program Leadership – Leads programming and support efforts for students. Develops and manages processes, logistics, budget, communication, and documentation. Acts as a course facilitator for multiple courses per term and facilitate related workshops and trainings. Recruits, hires, trains, and manages student fellows. Manages continual assessment, evaluation, and revision of student programs.
