Randolph-Macon College is seeking applications for a Director of Donor Relations/Major Gifts Officer in the College Advancement Office. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Leadership Giving, this position manages all stewardship activity.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing and managing a comprehensive program of stewardship of major, first time, cumulative, consecutive, endowed fund, and annual donors.
- Manages and enhances all facets of the College’s established stewardship program for scholarship donors.
- Overseeing a program of regular communication and acknowledgement with donors, including donors and family members who have established endowed scholarship funds.
- Preparing drafts of stewardship-related correspondence for the President, Vice President for Advancement, faculty, and staff as appropriate.
- Planning and executing the annual scholarship dinner/luncheon.
- Oversee the Parents Board, manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, and be responsible for their cultivation and solicitation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a proven track record of at least three years of successful fundraising or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an excitement about the process of prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
- Project management and multi-tasking skills are a necessity, as well as a sound understanding of the development process.
- Other requisites include personal motivation to achieve ambitious goals; a working knowledge of computer databases; an appreciation for and commitment to a team-oriented, spirited approach to fund-raising; and an appreciation for the mission and values of a traditional, residential college.
- Evening and weekend work is required.
