Course Leader – Creative Computing and Creative Technology

As part of our strategic portfolio expansion, we are now seeking to appoint an inspirational and experienced academic as the Course Leader for our new awards in BSc (Hons) Creative Computing, which will welcome its first cohort of students in September 2022, and BSc (Hons) Creative Technology, which will launch in 2023. The role will also oversee our new Diploma in Creative Computing, offered as a sandwich year for current students.

 

You will be an ambitious and enthusiastic academic leader with the vision, insight, commitment, and skills to further develop, deliver and promote these awards. With a background in computer science or a related area, you will have strong industry experience and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of creativity through personal creative practice and / or research.

Senior Lecturer / Lecturers  

£42,149 to £50,296 or £34,304 to £40,927 per annum

 

With the continued popularity of our BA (Hons) Games Art and Design, we are seeking industry-experienced staff who support our accredited BA (Hons) Games Art & Design course, and MA Games.

 

You may already be working in education or may be looking to change career. Either way, you will have the ability to be an engaging, supportive and inclusive teacher who can deliver innovative and engaging digital and on-campus teaching sessions. You will also be able to demonstrate currency in your industry experience or research practice.

 

We welcome applications from both academic staff and industry-based professionals who we can support in the development of their academic career.

 

Asset Production

 

You will have a sound knowledge of the games industry and professional experience in asset production. Demonstrable skills in modelling and UV mapping with Maya, digital sculpting with ZBrush, and use of Substance Suite for texture creation and normal map baking are essential.

Concept Art

 

Demonstrable skills in digital painting (Photoshop), art fundamentals (composition, light, colour, form), and ideation processes for character, prop, and environment design are essential.

Indie Development

 

You will have professional experience in indie development and high-level knowledge, skill and expertise in creating playable game experiences and prototypes in Unreal Engine (Blueprint / C++) or Unity (C#). Strong working knowledge of game design and game design theory; level design and knowledge of game production methodologies is essential.
