Description

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Dakota (UND) seeks a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor. This is a 9-month non-tenure track position beginning August 16, 2022, and renewable annually contingent on available funding.

The Department offers undergraduate and graduate master's degree programs in communication sciences and disorders. The department currently has seven full time and four part time faculty members, and a state-of-the-art clinic facility. The department typically has about 80 undergraduate and 40 graduate students enrolled.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
  1. CSD 400 – School programs in speech-language pathology
    1. This is a 3-credit course taught in the fall
  2. CSD 486 Field experience in CSD
    1. This is a 1-credit course taught in the fall and spring
  3. CSD 584 Advanced clinical practicum
    1. This course requires clinical supervision, as assigned in the fall and spring
  • Actively participate in department shared governance
  • Other miscellaneous clinic-related work

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of the ability to effectively teach and mentor students

Minimum Requirements

  • A master’s degree in speech-language pathology
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology
  • Eligible for North Dakota licensure
  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience

Contingent to accepting an offer of employment, candidate must successfully complete a criminal history records check. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identify and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment. Official transcripts from the highest educational institution must be provided upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical Supervision experience
  • Clinic and classroom teaching experience
  • Adult Clinical expertise or experience that compliments current faculty

Minimum Hiring Salary

$60,000, Full-time, Benefitted, Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

August 16, 2022 – May 15, 2023
