TheAssistant Director of Admissions and Transfer Pathways Counselorenthusiastically represents St. Catherine University to prospective College for Women and College for Adult students and their families as well as outside constituents who assist students in transferring to other colleges. Responsibilities include:

  • Build relationships with Community College students, advisors, academic departments and other student centered community college departments.
  • Counsel and advise prospective transfer, second degree, non-degree and pre-requisite students & their families about admission and financial aid for the CfW and CfA, Academic programs, campus departments and services.
  • Manage a geographic territory including visiting /community colleges, attending college fairs and school visits, contacting inquiries, applicants and accepted students by email and/or phone for the purpose of meeting enrollment goals.
  • Nurture and develop an external presence at area community colleges, while building new relationships to recruit more students to the university.
  • Complete degree audit and program planning with transfer students following completion of transfer evaluation.
  • Work with the Registrar’s office to insure admission counselors have the resources and support necessary to serve students with transfer of credit in the admission process.
  • Assist with implementation of group campus visit programs, including but not necessarily limited to Transfer Info, Registration, Preview, and Fall Visit Days.
  • Review application files and conduct required interviews.
  • Attend staff and other campus meetings.
  • Maintain professional development by attending conferences, staff development, and membership on committees.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of admission experience or similar sales experience.
  • Willingness to work and travel evenings and weekends during recruiting season.
  • Experience or interest in interacting with a diverse population of students and parents.
  • Appreciation for the mission of the University.
  • Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using transfer evaluation tools to complete credit evaluation and course planning for prospective transfer students. Possible tools include Transfer Equivalency System (TES) or Transferology & Degree Works.
