Position Summary

The Chemistry Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo is seeking an Instructional Support Associate. The Instructional Support Associate will prepare allchemicals, reagents, equipment, and glassware for all sections of General Chemistry Labs. In this role you will work closely with Chemistry Lab Director, Chemistry faculty and students.

In addition to the above you will:
  • Stock and maintain adequate chemical and equipment supplies for general Chemistry teaching program.
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies for the lab courses and initiates repairs on equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain and record inventory of all chemicals, glassware, and waste in the General Chemistry Stockroom. Initiate orders and purchases to ensure adequate supply.
  • Safely and professionally remove all chemicals, waste, etc from the labs when a particular experiment is finished in preparation for the next one.
  • Supervise student assistants assigned to stockroom

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree with a concentration in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a physical science.
  • 1 year in a technical laboratory environment.
