The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Health Sciences at
the University of North Carolina at Pembroke is seeking
applications for a dynamic and creative leader to serve as the
founding Program Director for a new master’s degree in Occupation
Therapy (MSOT). The position is a full time, tenure-track position
at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: The Director of the Master of Occupational Therapy Program must have an earned doctorate in Occupational Therapy or related degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. The successful candidate must have a minimum of eight years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include clinical practice as an occupational therapist; administrative experience, including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting; scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning); and at least three years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.
Management Preferences: A working knowledge of ACOTE Standards and expectations; effective leadership, including exceptional organizational skills; and prior administrative experience in program planning, implementation, and personnel management.
Required License or certification: Current certification by the national Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
