The School of Agriculture and Biological Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time (9 month) agribusiness faculty position beginning Fall 2022 (August 1, 2022 start date). The desired candidate should have qualifications enabling them to teach undergraduate courses, particularly involving microeconomic and macroeconomic principles as they apply to several of the following areas: agricultural finance, marketing and sales, agribusiness and farm management, entrepreneurship, agricultural and food policy, international trade, financial planning, agricultural law, and natural resources. In addition to being a highly effective teacher and advisor, this faculty member must identify and supervise agribusiness internships for students. The School focuses on applied learning experiences for students and supports the delivery of hands-on experiential learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate classes delivered in both seated and online formats. Teaching responsibilities will include preparation and teaching of lower and upper-level undergraduate courses. Demonstrated success as an instructor and in the application of innovative and hands-on teaching techniques is preferred. In addition, experience and/or certifications that allow the application of principles and theories related to the field of study is also desired. Candidates will have the use of and be involved in business planning to include production, marketing, and sales of an agronomic/horticultural crops unit and greenhouse at the Kornegay Student Farm during the academic year.

The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate mission of the School and University. The candidate will participate in School service activities, collegiate club activities, student farm development, and other facility enhancement projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a master’s degree with at least 18 hours in the teaching discipline to include agribusiness management, agricultural economics, agricultural law or policy, agricultural finance, agricultural marketing or related fields, or have comparable industry/work experience or a combination of both.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or equivalent in the teaching discipline to include: agribusiness management, agricultural economics, agricultural law or policy, agricultural finance, agricultural marketing, or related fields or have comparable industry/work experience or a combination of both.
