Job Description

The Lab of Dr. Matthew Buczynski is seeking a Research Scientist with significant experience developing novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of chronic pain utilizing translational expertise in pharmacology, neuroscience, and lipid biochemistry. The primary duties of this position will include designing and implementing bioassays for screening antibody efficacy; generating immunogens for monoclonal antibody development and chemical conjugates for screening; providing technical assistance and training for staff in methods for collecting tissue samples and plasma. This position is expected to function independently and will report directly to the PI.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline.
• Considerable experience in the use of mass spectrometry techniques for data collection and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience utilizing behavioral, biochemical, and molecular approaches for drug target development.
• Experience maintaining lab equipment including qRTPCR machine, centrifuges, and incubators.
• Experience training and mentoring students in laboratory techniques.
