The Position: The College of Business (COB) invites qualified candidates to apply for its Online Programs Directorship and Lecturer of Professional Development to start June 15, 2022.  

Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.  

Knowledge/Skills/Ability: The person in this position must be responsive, providing consistent and timely replies to student inquiries and needs. In addition, the person must have excellent phone, e-mail, and virtual platform skills. The Director will work a flex-time schedule, with at least half of the required time in the office during the workday and the remainder during various other hours designed to accommodate working adults. Candidates will engage and advise a diverse student population. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience, including online teaching, and be able to teach professional development courses.

Director and Faculty Responsibilities: This position provides professional and technical services to graduate and undergraduate online students. These services include academic orientation, academic advising, registration assistance, academic planning, graduation progression guidance, professional development support, calendar events communication, handling student concerns, and other related services.  The position also supports full-time and adjunct faculty who teach COB online courses. These services include loading online course shells, confirming online course readiness, coordinating systematic reviews of online course shells, monitoring the progress of course shells under development, calendar events communication, handling online faculty issues, and other related services.  The Online Programs Director will attend COB meetings, serve on committees, support COB activities, and represent COB at university and community events relevant to online COB program recruiting and retention. The person in this position will direct and teach BA 299/399/499 Professional Development courses.   COB faculty teach on the Lander University campus in Greenwood, South Carolina, and at the University Center Greenville in Greenville, South Carolina. COB faculty teach online courses in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Science, and graduate programs. Online teaching experience is preferred but not required. Online teaching faculty must complete an online teaching certification course. Candidates must be willing to serve, as assigned, on both COB committees and Lander University committees. According to AACSB engagement and impact guidelines, COB faculty engage with the local community according to their professional area of expertise. This position requires the academic advising of students.  

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.  

The College: The College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with seven emphasis areas: Accounting, Financial Services, Health Care Management, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, IT Management, and Management/Marketing. The college also offers a fully online Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration. The graduate program includes an online Master of Business Administration program and an online Master of Science in Management program. The primary focus of Lander University is teaching, and the College of Business emphasizes a student-centered learning environment. The College of Business is AACSB accredited.
