Position Summary:
The Event Coordinator works with the Director of Conferencing & Events to provide oversight to the planning and implementation of all special events for White Hall State Historic Site, and other identified University functions for EKU. The Event Coordinator supervises and provides daily direction for the department, and ensures that all programming is executed per the mission of the unit, providing continuous communication and accommodations as appropriate for client satisfaction.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree Required.
Degree in business, public, or personnel administration; or parks and recreation preferred.

Minimum Experience:
Directly related work experience in the areas of event planning and management are required.

Required Knowledge
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of park operations management.
  • County, state and federal regulations concerning park operations.
  • Laws, ordinances and principles of park safety and enforcement activity.
  • Fiscal management and budget administration; project management, including the preparation of estimates and bid specifications.
  • Working knowledge of principles of event marketing.
  • Has expert knowledge of the requirements of event planning.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and finance.
  • Working knowledge of Personnel and HR management.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment law, employee relations and dispute resolution skills, and the ability to relate sensitively to persons of diverse backgrounds and ability levels.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.


Job Functions:
Directly, and through subordinates, manages the operations and maintenance of White Hall Sate Historic Site.
Assists Conferencing & Events in oversight and management of conferences and events administered through Conferencing & Events for EKU.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
