The Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) or JHSPH advanced masters/doctoral level student with prior experience in qualitative data processing, analysis, reporting along with research coordination experience will be ideal for the AHRQ Safety Program in Perinatal Care (SPPC)-II Phase 2 (Demonstration Project) – Contract Number: HHSP233201500020I; Task Order Number: HHSP23337007T.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of the study protocol.
  • Assists the SPPC-II qualitative study team with in depth interview data coding and data analysis.
  • Participates in regular study meetings with SPPC-II qualitative study team and overall team meetings as needed.
  • Assists in the development of reports and manuscripts, including tables, charts, figures, memos, and drafts.
  • Run routine and ad hoc reports from qualitative database.
  • Assist with collating data analysis for study and develop data reports to share with project team. May use standard statistical tools and computer programs to review data.
  • Performs literature reviews for reports and manuscripts.
  • Assists in the maintenance of project databases for qualitative work.
  • May assist with Center communication and dissemination efforts.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Some related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Masters/Doctoral level student.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Must have the ability to work well and communicate effectively with others.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, be able to work independently and as part of a team, initiative, strong leadership skills, and an ability to work with a team of researchers and with diverse subject populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PC operations and software applications such as MS Windows, Excel, Word, and Access required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Must have excellent time management skills.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:

  • Prefer prior experience in qualitative data processing, analysis, and reporting. Working knowledge of MaxQDA (qualitative data analysis tool) required.

Starting Salary Range: $16.42 - $22.57/hr (commensurate with experience)

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
