Job Description
Job Summary:
The Program Assistant, under general supervision, provides standard program support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the coordination of assigned program.
- Assists with committee meetings and materials.
- Tracks and monitors program budget.
- Researches and recommends changes to existing
programs.
- Assists with proposal development.
- Purchases program materials.
- Prepares program correspondence.
- Assists in coordinating logistics and travel for program
seminars, workshops, orientations and other special
events.
- Creates, establishes and maintains program files, databases,
correspondence and program materials.
- Serves a first point of contact for program information and
coordinates responses to requests for program
information.

Additional Responsibilities
- Assists with the management of The International Trade Journal
(ITJ) including, but not limited to, the processing of new
submissions, editing of manuscripts, and preparation of files to be
sent to the publisher.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,
Communications, or related field.
- Experience - No experience required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Education - Master's degree Business Administration,
Communications, or related field.
- Experience - Two or more years of related
experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge:
- General office practices and procedures.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Adobe
programs.
- Academic research and publishing processes.
Abilities:
- Strong administrative, interpersonal, oral, and written
communication skills.
- Plan and organize work, as well as attend to detail.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
environment.
- Strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Speak, read, and write in Spanish (bilingual - English and
Spanish).
