General Description
Under the direction of the Access and Ability Center (AAC) Director, the Test Proctor will oversee and maintain the testing center, administer a variety of tests, and provide information to students regarding test procedures. In addition, this position will maintain various records and collaborate with District staff/faculty with related information.
This position is assigned to the Visalia campus, Full-Time M-Fri. 10-month position. Initial placement is at $22.54 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
(Education & Experience):
The Test Proctor will have any combination equivalent to completion of two years of college-level training and two years of increasingly responsible business/office experience.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Valid California driver's license
- Evening and weekend work
- Travel to different work sites
- An incumbent must be insurable at the “standard rate” by the
employer's insurance carrier at all times while employed in this
classification by the College of the Sequoias
Working Conditions:
Environment - Indoor work environment
- Constant interruptions
- Contact with students, staff, supervisors, and the
public
- Evening and weekend hours may be required
- Drive vehicle from site to site to conduct business of the
College
Physical Abilities - Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
- Ability to communicate with
students/employees/public
- Ability to read documents
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of
time
- Ability to reach in all directions
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds to move necessary materials and
supplies to conduct testing.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and office
equipment (in order to ensure a quiet testing environment).
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: - Test proctoring techniques and procedures, including
familiarity with software such as Proctorio along with adaptive
software (e.g., Kurzweil)
- Testing accommodations
- Security and confidentiality of test materials and
results
- Word Processing, spreadsheet and database programs
- Oral and written communication skills
- Record keeping techniques
- Oral and written communication skills
- Principles and policies of training and providing work
direction
- Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and
courtesy
- Modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and assistive
technologies
- Telephone techniques and etiquette
Ability to: - Oversee a testing facility for community college
students.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written
form.
- Operate computers, peripheral equipment, scanners and other
office equipment
- Schedule and coordinate a variety of academic tests.
- Ensure student compliance with ethical standards in
testing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working
relationships with faculty, staff and others.
- Provide testing information and assistance to students and
faculty.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Train and supervise student assistants
(readers/scribes).
- Maintain security and confidentiality of testing
materials/results and student information.
- Relate effectively to people of varied academic, cultural and
socio-economic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy and
courtesy.
