The University of Chattanooga Foundation seeks to fill the position of Senior Director/Director of Development for the Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. The Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was named after receiving the largest philanthropic gift in the history of UTC from Gary W. Rollins and Kathleen Rollins in 2018.

The Senior Director/Director will build relationships to generate financial support for the Rollins College of Business through the discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. The Senior Director/Director will coordinate closely with the Dean and faculty members to broaden the prospect base and address the key fundraising priorities of the university and college, including future capital expansion. Breakdown of percentage of job responsibilities listed below.

Identifies and qualifies new major gift prospects through peer referencing and prospect research. Attains individually-measured goals for substantive visits (local, regional and national), proposals delivered and funded, and dollars raised. (70%)

Attend and assist with donor receptions and other department functions which will include nights and weekends. (15%)

Meets regularly with Deans, Department Heads and key Faculty/Staff as assigned to initiate and review their specific fundraising strategies. (10%)

Other duties as assigned related to fundraising initiatives or activities of the advancement functions. (5%)

The Rollins College of Business at University of Tennessee Chattanooga provides quality educational programs that produce academically-prepared and business-world ready graduates for a competitive global environment. The college has long-standing AACSB accreditation, and the Department of Accounting is separately accredited by AACSB. Approximately 2,000 undergraduate students are enrolled in in accounting, business analytics, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, marketing, and management, and 300 graduate students are enrolled in the MBA, Master of Science in Data Analytics, and Master of Accountancy programs. The college also offers minors in business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance, promotion, and sales.

The Rollins College of Business is organized into four Academic Departments (Accounting, Finance and Economics, Management, and Marketing and Entrepreneurship) with 67 full-time faculty. Within the college, the Joseph F. Decosimo Success Center provides outstanding support to students in the areas of academic advisement, career development, experiential learning opportunities and other programming.

The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments.

Qualifications :

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience. Title will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with experience. Initial minimum salary increases at each title level dependent on education, experience and qualifications.

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UC Foundation reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Experience in development, marketing, or sales related field is required. The ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally is required. Experience with higher education, healthcare or nonprofit fundraising is preferred.

Skills: Excellent computer, verbal and written communication, and demonstrated organizational skills necessary. In addition, the position requires the ability to work independently, build relationships, and solicit gifts.
