Job Description

The Head Women’s Golf Coach is responsible for all aspects of the development and management of the Mizzou’s Division I women’s golf program. Responsibilities will include providing technical and tactical instruction, recruitment and retention of academically qualified student-athletes while providing administrative oversight of the program.

Job Description:

-Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the Department and University, as well as rules and regulations of the SEC, NCAA and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program.
-Oversee the recruitment and selection of student-athletes. Ensure compliance with NCAA guidelines for contacting and entertaining prospects. Initiate the process of determining academic eligibility and issuing National Letters of Intent.
-Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
-Monitor the eligibility status and promote the academic progress of student-athletes by working closely with the Academic Services and Compliance for Eligibility/Recruiting. Assist in enforcing study hall attendance for referred freshmen and others with grade deficiencies.
-Develop and submit the sport’s annual budget; manage the sport’s program within the framework of a balanced budget; must approve all expenditures to sport budget.
-Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions in and out of season, as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations.
-Develop and implement strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and as a team.
-Arrange a competitive event schedule in conjunction with the sport program administrator.
-Ensure that team travel arrangements comply with University, SEC and NCAA rules and regulations, to include monitoring the development of travel itineraries and coordination of travel.
-Hire, supervise and terminate assigned personnel and ensure their compliance with applicable rules, policies and procedures.
-Provide orientation, training and guidance, as needed. Conduct annual performance evaluations as appropriate. Personnel changes require the approval of the Director of Athletics and sport program administrator.
-Assist with approved fund raising activities, as requested.
-Participate in public relations activities, to include speaking engagements, television and radio interviews, press conferences and appearances at fund raising events as approved or requested; represent the Department at professional, civic, charitable and alumni events.
-Compile data and reports as required by the Department and University.
-Assist in attempts to increase interest in the sport and attendance at competitions.
-Develop and publish team rules. Enforce team rules and appropriate disciplinary action.
-Assure that booster clubs related to the sport program adhere to all rules and regulations of the NCAA and the University of Missouri.
-Cooperate with all coaches and administrative staff within the intercollegiate athletics program to enhance overall departmental operation.
-Initiate and maintain accurate records on letter award recipients. Prepare and distribute reports and recommendations for review and approval.
-Develop a one to five year plan for Women’s Golf in conjunction with the Department’s future plans.
-Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and sport program administrator.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience

Shift

Varied Hours, Monday thru Friday; Nights and Weekends as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

-Master’s degree.
-Former collegiate golf student-athlete.
-Division I collegiate golf coaching experience.
-Demonstrated administrative, public relations and organizational skills.
-Obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
-Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various constituents.
