Primary Function

The Illinois Interactive Report Card ( IIRC ) at Northern Illinois University manages and disseminates an award-winning school improvement website for Illinois K-12 schools ( www.illinoisreportcard.com ) and an exciting new public data system for postsecondary institutions in Illinois ( www.illinoispostsecondaryprofiles.com .) IIRC’s mission is to facilitate education by providing an excellent public service resource for educators, parents, students and public stakeholders across the State of Illinois.
IIRC was established on October 14, 2003, through an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Illinois State Board of Education and the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University, and now has additional agreements in place with the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Illinois Community College Board. IIRC is affiliated with the Center for P-20 Engagement in the Division of Outreach, Engagement and Regional Development.

Primary Functions of Position
The Technical Project Manager will serve three primary functions: coordinate with the Director to drive project planning and execution; develop and maintain appropriate project management and documentation systems in support of departmental projects; and create and submit progress reports, analyses and other documentation related to work on departmental projects. Other duties may be assigned in coordination with the Director.

Duties and Responsibilities (generally)

The Technical Project Manager will serve three primary functions: coordinate with the Director to drive project planning and execution; develop and maintain appropriate project management and documentation systems in support of departmental projects; and create and submit progress reports, analyses and other documentation related to work on departmental projects. Other duties may be assigned in coordination with the Director.

Minimum Required Qualifications for this position

1. Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, management information systems or related degree.
2. Demonstrated experience of managing software development projects.
3. Certification for Agile or Scrum required, with preference given to applicants with additional certifications.

Specialty Factors (Additional Required Qualifications)

Education and Experience Preferred

1. Master’s degree in computer science, OMIS, management or a related field and two or more years’ project management experience.
2. Strong preference given to experience in software development or data systems.
3. Project Management Professional ( PMP ) certification preferred.
4. Prior experience in web design and information content within . NET preferred.6.
5. Familiarity with Azure CI/CD pipeline processes and applications strongly preferred.
6. Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure storage solutions, strongly preferred.
7. Project Management Professional ( PMP ) certification preferred.
8. Prior experience in web design and information content within .net preferred.
9. Familiarity with Atlassian product family (Jira/Trello/Bitbucket) preferred.
10. Knowledge of School Curriculum and Assessment information/measures preferred.

Actual hiring rate is commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity; position includes a robust benefits package to eligible applicants.
