Job Description:

Listed below are the classes that need to be taught and the skills covered in each class:

CART 2501 (formerly 212) 2D Animation, 3 credits
(each class is 1 hour and 50 minutes long. Two meetings per week, 15 weeks total)
  • stretch, squash, weight, and timing.
  • Character construction and Rotation
  • Walk/run cycle
  • Storyboard presentation
  • Sound and postproduction in Adobe Premiere Pro or another software that fits the need.
  • Assist students in animating their pieces for portfolios
CART 2500 (formerly 209) 3D Modeling, 3 credits
(each class is 1 hour and 50 minutes long. Two meetings per week, 15 weeks total)
  • Creating, setting and organizing Maya projects
  • Polygon modeling tools
  • UV layout
  • Texturing with both Photoshop and Maya
  • Lighting
  • Environment design and paint brush (sky, land, water?)
  • Camera animation
  • Rendering
  • Postproduction with Premiere Pro for portfolio pieces
Duties
  • Provide excellent instruction and facilitate student engagement.
  • Provide grades and feedback on progress throughout the semester.
  • Strive for student success in preparing them to enter a professional creative field.
  • Cover the required technical and theoretical aspects of the syllabus.
  • Maintain student attendance records.
  • Submit interim and final grades by published deadlines.
  • Each class meets twice weekly. Each class period is 1 hour and 50 minutes.
  • The Spring '23 semester starts on January 23, 2023. Last class is May 9.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related area
  • Professional experience in a related area
  • Experience teaching at college-level
Preferred
  • Experience with a learning management system such as Blackboard
