Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation serves as a creative and dynamic technical leader in the development of customer-focused strategic and operational end user enterprise technology services and solutions. This highly visible role engages with customer stakeholders and distributed IT partners to define service delivery through technology innovation, standards, process improvement, and customer feedback.

As the Assistant Director, you will assist with setting direction and providing leadership for central customer facing technical teams related to endpoint device management, applications administration, and AV services.

In this role you will:
  • Oversee operational support services, drive technology innovation, manage projects and technical staff.
  • Proactively manage workload while ensuring service delivery is consistently meeting or exceeding service level expectations
  • Ensure the timely delivery of technology lifecycle replacement and budget for supported endpoints and AV.
  • Manage related vendor relationships.
  • Seek and provide technical training opportunities to the campus community to demonstrate the value of technology and digital transformation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of technical managerial experience OR master’s degree or professional certification with 3 years of experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical managerial experience in a higher education environment
  • Customer-focused technical management
  • Technical project management
