Job/Department Summary:

Working independently, under the general direction of the Assistant/Associate Vice President for Student Success and University Advising, the Student Success & Advising Analyst undertakes research, analytics, reporting, development of assessments, data resource training, and evaluation efforts of considerable scope with little or no supervision. This position supports the CSU Chico campus with high visibility programs with broad campus impact such as graduation initiatives, advising initiatives and academic advising programs, through data analysis, interpretation, and reporting and identifies student populations that would benefit from advising interventions aimed at promoting student success and increasing timely graduation. Additionally, the Analyst designs and communicates advising campaigns to a broad audience of campus collaborators and stakeholders and assists in advisor training of departments the creation and updating of reports, templates, campaigns, and dashboards. This position provides program leadership of a strategic nature through the analysis, development, and evaluation of complex policies, guidelines, and regulations to ensure compliance for data collection and reporting and developing key indicators for student success. To succeed in this position incumbent must have a demonstrated ability to provide leadership in addressing complex and sensitive problems with tact and diplomacy; technical proficiency with e-advising technology, computers, and software packages; demonstrated ability to adapt to new hardware and software; and extensive and in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply expertise in the advanced theories, principles, methods, and practices associated with student success and advising.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Bilingual.
  • Higher Education Student Services Experience.
  • Query or SQL knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and other CRM applications.
  • Knowledge of database management systems.
Required Education and Experience:

The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and three years of full-time administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs.

Time Base: Full-time- 1.0

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm. Remote work available on occasion.

Salary and Benefits Information:

$4,693 - $8,489 per month / $56,316 - $101,868 annually (New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning of the salary range)
